Entry Fee
The entry fee applies to ALL PERSONS ATTENDING and gets you admission into our main cat area. Our general entry session runs for up to 1 hour. You do not get extra time if you arrive late.
We are a small, independently run social enterprise with all proceeds contributing towards our cats’ care. We don’t do it for the money but reality is money is needed in order to keep the doors open and care for the cats.
Session Capacities
Please ensure you select the number of persons attending before you select the day / session time (default is 1 entry). If you can’t select the entries you need, then there aren’t enough spaces in that time slot to accommodate you.
For groups larger than 6: do not book across multiple sessions and assume we will be able to accommodate you - please email us purrsandbeansnz@gmail.com to see what options might be available.
We do have a limit in all sessions so we don’t overwhelm the cats which leads to a better visitor experience so please don’t show up with extra people who haven’t booked as we cannot guarantee entry.
If you cannot see any sessions on an operating day, then we are fully booked. What you see on the booking calendar is what is available.
Age Restriction and Child Policy
Only guests 10+ can access our general entry session and special events as part of our SPCA welfare plan put in place for our cats’ wellbeing. The minimum age for entry into our adoption room is 6+ but this is only available by arrangement with the owners to families who are considering adoption.
Additionally, please be aware that it is a legal requirement for guests 14 years old and under to be accompanied by an adult so someone who is at least 18 years old must be booked in as well and they need to be actively supervising the children.
Please do not book if you have under-age children or for your children only as we do enforce this strictly and refunds will not be given. We reserve the right to turn you away if no proof of age can be provided and we doubt your child’s age.
Venue Accessibility and Parking
Please note we are located down a driveway and there will be a few steps to traverse to enter the premises. There are limited parking spots available for guests located directly behind the building. If you are parking in our car park, please only park there for the duration of your session. If vehicles are found to be parked past their allotted time, they will be towed at the vehicle owner’s expense.
Food and Beverage Offering
As our main experience is time with our cats, please note that while we have a full beverage menu, we only have afternoon-tea style snacks on the food front. We are not a dine-in café so there won't be hot / plated meals available.
With our drinks, they must be covered for food and cat safety reasons - you will need to either rent a cup with us ($4; refundable at the end of your session) or purchase a 20c single use takeaway cup. Alternatively, feel free to bring your own covered keep cup for a 50c discount!
If you’re planning on ordering food and drink to enjoy with your cat time, we recommend arriving 5-10 minutes before your session so we can get your order in before you head in to hang with our cats.
Booking Policy
All bookings are non-refundable and reschedules are only allowed if the booking is 72 hours (3 days) away so please book carefully. Unused or surplus bookings will be treated as a donation to Purrs & Beans, contributing towards our cats’ care. Read our full booking policy.
